Use your judgment
You are meeting people you may not know, to play sport. Check the match details, tell someone where you are going, and arrive when other people do. If something feels wrong, do not go — no match is worth it.
Follow the venue's rules
Whoever runs the pitch sets the rules for it: access, footwear, changing rooms, timing, payment. Follow them. We have no relationship with the venue and cannot resolve a problem there.
Respect the people you play with
Turn up if you said you would, and cancel early if you cannot. No abuse, harassment, discrimination, threats or violence — on the pitch or in chat. Play the level of football the match was described as.
Report and block
Report a profile, match, community or message that breaks the rules, and block anyone you do not want contact with. If you believe something is illegal, use Report illegal content in Settings — that is a formal notice, and we treat it differently.
Look after yourself
Playing football carries a risk of injury. Decide for yourself whether you are fit to play, bring what you need, and stop if you are hurt. We do not supervise matches or provide first aid.
Emergencies
In an emergency, call 112. MatchMate is not an emergency service and cannot send help.
