Deleting your MatchMate account

In the app

You can delete your account at any time: open MatchMate, go to Settings → Account actions → Delete account, and confirm. Deletion happens straight away and you do not need to contact us.

If you cannot get into the app

You can contact us at matchmate.app.support@gmail.com. Ask us to delete your account and we will do it for you.

Tell us the email address the account uses and, if you know it, the username. Send the request from that email address where you can — that is the quickest way for us to know it is you. If you cannot use it, say so and we will find another way to confirm who you are: we do not delete an account without confirming that first.

What is deleted

Your profile and the personal content attached to it are deleted or anonymised, and the ratings you gave are removed — which can change the averages of people you rated. A community you own is closed rather than deleted, so its members keep their history.

What may be kept

We keep some records after deletion where we have a legitimate security or legal reason: reports you made about other people, moderation decisions, and records needed to prevent abuse or defend a legal claim. We keep those no longer than the reason for keeping them lasts. This is described in the Privacy Policy.
